A NIGHT OF GLAMOUR & GENEROSITY AT THE 66th ANNUAL VIZCAYA BALL / by Eric Monteiro

Miami, FL – November 18, 2023 – The Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, an emblem of grandeur and history in Miami, once again hosted its most anticipated event of the year, the Vizcaya Ball. This year marked the 66th anniversary of this prestigious gala. It was a night where elegance, philanthropy, and history intertwined, creating an unforgettable experience for the 350 guests who were lucky enough to secure a ticket to this sold-out event for the third consecutive year. The gala was catered and produced by our team at Thierry Isambert Culinary and Event Design.

Themed 'Old Hollywood,' the event was a tribute to an era of iconic glamour. Guests, dressed in their finest black-tie attire, walked through the cascade entrance of Vizcaya, immediately immersing themselves in an atmosphere reminiscent of a classic silver screen movie. The setting was perfect for striking a pose and capturing a moment of timeless elegance.

The evening began in the Main House courtyard, transformed into a scene straight out of a glamorous Hollywood party. The air buzzed with excitement and anticipation, complemented by the melodious tunes of Jeffrey Grainger and his Orchestra, along with performances by Beltro Entertainment. This cocktail reception set the tone for the rest of the evening, a blend of luxury and historical charm.

As the night unfolded, the guests were called to the waterfront terrace by NBC 6 anchor, Roxanne Vargas, who was the Mistress of Ceremonies for another year. Under a clear tent beneath the Miami stars, the patrons enjoyed a sumptuous seated dinner.

One of the highlights of the evening was a performance by the New Century Dance Company, and as the performance concluded, the Valerie Tyson Band took over, drawing guests to the dance floor.

Beyond the glamour and the celebration, the Vizcaya Ball held a deeper significance. It was a night dedicated to the preservation of Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, a National Historic Landmark. The funds raised from the gala will contribute to the ongoing efforts to maintain and restore this treasured piece of Miami's history, ensuring that it continues to be a beacon of culture and beauty for generations to come.

The 66th Annual Vizcaya Ball was a testament to the enduring allure of Miami's history, the generosity of its community, and the timeless beauty of an era that continues to inspire.
