The Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon (aka “The Hat Luncheon) is one of the most anticipated events each Spring, gathering over 300 of Miami’s most fashionable philanthropists for an event that’s bursting with color and creativity.
The stunning array of extraordinary hats worn by the guests lends an air of creative whimsy to this event that is instrumental in Vizcaya’s annual fundraising efforts, with historic preservation being the main goal.
The luncheon started with welcome cocktails in the courtyard of the Main House. Cocktail hour featured a sweet and tangy Strawberry Basil Margarita from our new craft cocktail division, Libations by T.I.
Guests savored delicate and delicious hors d’oeuvres such as Mini Reina Pepiada Arepa (small bites of Chicken Avocado Salad,) Veggie Tartar in Compressed Cucumber and Pan seared Crab Cakes. Talented students from the Frost School of Music set the tone with sweet tunes while guests browsed the latest pieces by Jimmy Quiroga Designs.
An elegant 3-course lunch was served on the east terrace, and included speeches and announcements with Emmy Award-winning reporter, Laurie Jennings, serving as Mistress of Ceremonies.
