The CFDA’s important dates calendar now has Miami Fashion Week right up there with New York, Paris London and Milan.
“We think that Miami being in the important dates is important for Miami Fashion Week and the city,” says Miami Fashion Week CEO Julio Iranzo, “ Milan, New York, London and Paris — and now the fifth city, Miami — for us, it is a proud moment.”
For almost two decades, Miami Fashion Week has been a much anticipated local event, but under new ownership since 2016, it has been rebranded and is the only major fashion event in the world featuring resort/cruise collections.
Miami Fashion Week 2017 featured designers Silvia Tcherassi, Shantall Lacayo, Custo Barcelona, Fisico, Yirko Sivirich, Rene Ruiz, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada and Angel Sanchez. See all of our venues to learn more.
SILVIA TCHERASSI RESORT 2018
Silvia Tcherassi's Resort 2018 runway show opened the event and her collection is simply stunning. WWD wrote: "Tcherassi’s designs pioneered that Latin flair, which seems to be very desirable now but with a particular sense of ease and elegance — think feminine shirts done in luxurious cottons with voluminous sleeve details, floral silk robes lined in contrasting prints, deconstructed trenches, easy silk maxi dresses in polka dot prints and playful bralettes to layer with. “I was very inspired by nature, earth, I love textures and workmanship — mixing patterns. Shirts are my passion — they have always been my trademark,” she said."
