We're halfway through January and more than used to the idea that it's already 2017, but we still have a little nostalgia for some of the magical holiday events that were only a month ago. Amy and Javier's wedding was in December, and there was a sense of holiday cheer that added another dimension to their celebration.
Estancia Culinaria was the perfect venue for this rustic, country-style wedding. Estancia Culinaria is a private, family-owned and operated organic avocado grove in Homestead. This tranquil oasis is only 30 to 40 minutes from the city and boasts over 800 trees spread throughout the property. There are horse paddocks, a quaint coral rock chapel and meandering paths throughout the property, making it the perfect venue for an elegant, outdoor event.
The couple took their vows outside, in front of the picture-perfect chapel. The bride, resplendent in a gown designed by her friend, Heidi Elnora, arrived in a horse-drawn carriage that picked her up from the main house where the bridal party was provided with a suite.
A December wedding at Estancia is meant to be celebrated outside, and the ceremony was followed by cocktails next to the chapel for the 126 guests, many of whom flew in from Alabama. Wooden passing trays matched the rustic theme, and small bites were served, including delicious hors d’oeuvres such as Smoked Brisket with Avocado Tomato Brunoise and a collection of Croquetta Lollipops
Rustic farm tables decorated with country bouquets were set beneath a clear-top tent. The menu featured our interactive Teppanyaki Station and a chic Slider Bar. The Teppanyaki station is a great culinary experience because guests get to place their order directly with the chef and watch their dish being prepared. It also offers something for everyone, including gourmet beef and seafood options, and a vegan risotto with seared organic vegetables.
