CATERING PERSONNEL / STEWARDS
Stewards are in charge of cleaning and sanitizing all china, glass and silverware, and maintaining sanitation of all major kitchen equipment, culinary and food & beverage facilities. We rely on our Stewards to be organized clean-freaks with a passionate commitment to the team and the job at hand!
Requirements:
Restaurant, catering or events experience.
A background in off-site events is preferred.
English fluency is mandatory. Bilingual is always appreciated.
PASTRY COOKS
Thierry Isambert Culinary and Event design is looking for experienced Prep Cooks to work with our talented BOH team. Do you multitask, work harmoniously with co-workers and supervisors and remain calm under pressure? If so, we need someone like you to help with prepping food items according to recipe cards in a way that is consistent with the company's expected quality and standards. Job also includes labelling of food containers, food storage organization, monitoring of stock and supplies, and set up of stations for service.
Requirements:
High School, Cooking School, Culinary Institute or Equivalent Experience.
Minimum two years culinary or related work experience with intermediate culinary knowledge expected in order to effectively fill the position.
Ability to operate, maintain and clean all kitchen equipment. Must have proficient knife skills.
COOKS
Thierry Isambert Culinary and Event Design is looking for experienced Line Cooks.

WAIT STAFF
Thierry Isambert Culinary and Event Design is seeking Event Servers to work with our experienced Wait Staff and Operations Team. If you are a team player with a great attitude, a clean and professional appearance, great communication skills and the ability to be respectful with supervisors and co-workers in a fast-paced environment, WE want you! Our servers must have a flexible schedule and be willing to step up to the plate (pardon the pun) when tasks outside the scope of serving are occasionally required.
Requirements:
Our servers are in direct contact with guests and as such, the highest code of excellence is expected.
English fluency is mandatory and a second language is always a plus.
Experience in fine dining, cocktail and buffet setup is preferred.
Experience with large catering events including corporate, social events and weddings is preferred.
Valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit is always a plus.
BARTENDERS
We are looking for experienced Bartenders to work with our talented Wait Staff and Operations team. Bartenders have a variety of responsibilities which include set up and breakdown of the bar at events, maintaining accurate opening and closing inventory of product, assuring cleanliness of all equipment prior to events, creating attractive displays of bottles and glasses, collecting payment and reconciling change at the end of the event, and maintaining a sanitary work and serving area. We are looking for a team player with a commitment to excellence, an impeccable professional appearance and great interpersonal skills. You may be required to occasionally assist outside the scope of bartending.
Requirements:
English fluency. A second language is always appreciated.
Flexible schedule and willingness to learn.
Certifications and experience is preferred.
Great communication and people skills. The ability to stay calm under pressure.
Excellent organization skills with knowledge of proper sanitation procedures.
HEAD WAITER / SUPERVISOR
We are always looking for dedicated and passionate team players with management and supervisory experience. The Head Waiter / Supervisor facilitates the needs of the Event Creators as well as the guests while overseeing staff operations. Proper management before, during and after each event is crucial for maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Functions & Requirements:
Ensure staff works as a team while making sure guests needs are being met.
Inspect grooming of staff prior to events and take action to rectify problems.
Event opening and closing duties includes, but is not limited to, set up of supplies and tools, ensuring cleanliness and proper organization of equipment, work and storage areas.
Ensure safety and security policies are properly implemented and report unsafe conditions or accidents to manager.
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
Welcome and acknowledge guests, anticipate guests' service needs and assist individuals with special needs.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. The ability to communicate clearly and in a professional manner is mandatory.
Generate a positive team spirit. Listen to employees concerns and make sure harmony is maintained in support of achieving common goals.
Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Develop and implement new ways to increase efficiency and productivity.
EVENT COORDINATOR
Are you looking for a dynamic, creative work environment? Do you have awesome customer service and interpersonal skills? Event Creators are the backbone of the Sales department at Thierry Isambert Culinary and Event Design! You'll be expected to assist with proposals, place or update rental orders, ensure accuracy to avoid issues on the day of events, maintain the Event Creators' schedules, organize client files, prepare and send invoices to clients, ensure timely reception of payments, submit vendor invoices to accounting and attend site visits and meetings with clients.
Requirements:
Communication: Event Coordinators talk to clients, listen and present ideas and solutions. They work with contractors, vendors and staff. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Calm Under Pressure: Many things can potentially go wrong at an event. Events are high pressure. Event Coordinators are expected to maintain poise and calm in the face of a crisis as they assist in finding solutions.
Computer Skills: Modern Event Coordinators rely on computers to communicate, plan, budget and organize. MS Office, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook, Word... and more!
Organization: Event Coordinators need to stay organized and focused so that events go off without a hitch!
Problem-solving skills: Inevitably something will go wrong at an event! The ability to quickly solve an issue is essential.
EVENT CREATOR
Event Creators are creative, dedicated team players with the experience and knowledge required to bring clients' dreams to fruition, whether big or small! Event Creators are in the front line, they are in day to day contact with clients and as such they are our brand ambassadors! You will listen to clients describe their visions and design appropriate proposals that will wow them!
You will follow up with sold and pending clients on a weekly basis, work with in-house coordinators to ensure accuracy of proposals and contracts, build and maintain clientele, attend networkers and represent the company, bring in new business, stay up to date with industry trends, negotiate with vendors, meet and exceed sales goals, attend on-site walk throughs with clients, taking notes and pictures for reference, make sure everything goes smoothly the day of events and effectively communicate with all departments to ensure flawless results.
Requirements:
College Degree plus 3 years or related experience.
Be flexible with the fluctuating schedule.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are mandatory.
Detail oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
Strong background in hospitality idustry and event planning.
Computer Skills are mandatory. This includes but is not limited to: MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Office and Outlook.
English fluency is required. Second language is appreciated.
Willingness to put in time on weekends, holidays and nights.
EVENT INTERN
This internship provides the opportunity to be fully immersed in all aspects of catering and event production. You will assist with completion of event proposals, placing rental orders and ensuring accuracy of all orders. You will assist the Event Coordinators with all tasks listed in the description above.
Requirements:
Part-time availibility (20 hrs a week minimum)
Intern must be seeking school credit as a sophomore or higher, pursuing a degree in hospitality, management or a related field.
Bilingual candidates preferred but not required.
May be asked to work weekends at some events.
Some paid opportunities may arise.
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential.
The ability to remain calm under pressure is required. Problem solving skills essential.
