CATERING THE 25th ANNUAL BEST BUDDIES MIAMI GALA / by Eric Monteiro

The 25th Annual Best Buddies Miami Gala was an exceptional evening filled with inspiration, celebration, and, of course, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a seated dinner for 600 guests. Hosted at the Ice Palace Studios in Miami on November 17, 2023, this gala brought together philanthropists, friends of Best Buddies Miami, business leaders, political dignitaries, sports figures, and celebrities. The event was dedicated to supporting the mission of Best Buddies International, a non-profit organization committed to fostering friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Spirit of Leadership Award to seven-time Superbowl Champion and Best Buddies Global Ambassador, Tom Brady. To mark this momentous occasion, three-time Grammy award-winning artist Nelly graced the stage with a spectacular performance.

The gala featured a silent auction with a diverse range of items, including exclusive vacations, fine art, and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. These auctions contributed significantly to the event's fundraising efforts, with all proceeds going directly to support Best Buddies' mission of enhancing the lives of people with IDD.

However, no small feat for Miami catering company, Thierry Isambert Culinary and Event Design, providing a dining experience for 600 guests required planning, precision and discipline behind the scenes. From the moment guests arrived, they were treated to an array of hors d'oeuvres. The menu included Beef Carpaccio with Baby Arugula and Lemon Oil, Cured Salmon Blinis with Crème Fraiche and Dill, Mini Tuna Tartare in Rice Paper Tartlets, and more.

During the cocktail hour, a Crudo Bar offered Tuna Tartare with Capers and Red Onion, as well as Watermelon Tataki with Seared Sesame Marinated Watermelon. The Dock to Dish Ceviche featured Corvina with Lime, Pepper, Cilantro, and Yellow Chili, alongside Lomi Lomi Salmon with Jalapeno, Ginger, Tomato Brunoise, and Volcanic Sea Salt. A chic street stand served Florida Lobster Rolls, Wagyu Sliders, and Quinoa with Edamame.

The seated dinner offered guests a choice of Poached Black Cod with Aromatics, Charcoal Grilled Tenderloin of Beef with Pomme Anna, or Yucca Gnocchi with Shiitake Mushroom and Shaved Truffle. The dessert, Inverted Pavlova, provided a sweet and elegant conclusion to the evening.

Corporate event catering in Miami is no small feat, especially when it involves serving 600 appetizers, entrées, and desserts seamlessly. The logistics of such an operation require meticulous planning and discipline. Strict adherence to the plan is paramount to ensure that each guest enjoys a flawless dining experience. It's a testament to the professionalism and expertise of the catering team that they execute this culinary symphony with precision, turning a challenging task into a seamless success.
