The New World Center played host to a spectacular Bat Mitzvah celebration planned and produced by Chris Weinberg Events. What could be more approrpriate than the Frank Gehry-designed New World Symphony performance hall for celebrating with a Broadway theme? “We had never produced a social event at the New World Center and our client was looking for a venue that was both world class and different than the norm. We were thrilled the date was available and we worked seamlessly with the venue team and Thierry’s to produce a flawless event. We thoroughly enjoyed the process and the end result was successful for all!”
The event made full use of some of the New World Center’s main event spaces. Guests arrived in the atrium, the New World Center’s grand entrance hall with vaulted ceilings and a glass façade. The curved surfaces overhanging the atrium featured custom video projections depicting broadway scenes and Broadway theater signage with the birthday girl’s name in lights.
Cocktail hour in the Atrium and on the rooftop included a variety of food options for adults and kids. Guests enjoyed sweeping 360 degree views of Miami Beach from the rooftop from 7-8pm with butler passed hors d’oeuvres including beef, lamb, shellfish and vegetarian options.
Cocktail Stations in the Atrium included Thierry Isambert’s Classic Carving Station, a Seafood Cocktail Station and a live action Sushi & Sashimi Station with two sushi chefs preparing a wide variety of sushi.
“The World is a Stage Dinner Reception” in the performance hall offered dinner stations that included Chinese Stir Fry in takeout boxes, Dim Sum, a Comfort Food Station with sliders and fried chicken waffles, and a Farm Bar with salad greens and healthy proteins.
“The sound, lighting and video projection screens and team at New World Symphony are amazing. This is all included in the venue rental fee, so the client was able to take full advantage and have video content and lighting that was beyond your typical mitzvah celebration, as well as a high-end tech team to execute all. Additionally, working closely with Vanessa and Thierry at Thierry Isambert Culinary, ensured that the menu was well curated and exactly to the specifications of our client. Having a synagogue within walking distance allowed for an easy flow from the service portion to the celebration across the street. ”
