CATERING SPRING EVENTS IN MIAMI [BEHIND THE SCENES] / by Eric Monteiro

I asked our Event Creators to send over all the cell phone pics they have of recent events, and there was so much light, color and inspiration spilling from my inbox, I thought I'd share all of it here!

Meander through these photos that capture moments behind the scenes - many depict that brief moment when everything is set up and ready but the doors haven't opened yet. There are lavish weddings, corporate functions and cosy brunches poolside, but they all have one thing in common: Spring! You'll find flowers and color and that special light that's unique to South Florida!

CATERING AT HOME

An idyllic Easter Brunch for family and friends!

Stay home for brunch and call in the caterers! Spring is the best time of the year for enjoying brunch at home poolside or on the waterfront. For decor and culinary ideas, click here.  For more information about our current Spring Catering Specials, click here - and while we're talking about brunch, take a look at this dreamy, vintage travel-themed baby shower we produced and catered in March.

Memorable milestones celebrated at home. It's not every day you turn 50, so when you do, have a blast!

RETAIL BOUTIQUES

An elegant luncheon for fashionable VIP customers at Bal Harbor, in collaboration with Liaison, meant careful attention to the decor. Furniture, centerpieces and tableware had to fit in seamlessly with the boutique design.

A little bit of trivia totally unrelated to actually catering the in-store event (produced in collaboration with the SiiNC Agency)... but did you know that French tennis player, René Lacoste, was ranked number one in 1926 and 1927? He also won 7 Grand Slam championships? He found the tennis uniforms back then to be uncomfortable, so he was on the lookout for different attire for the tennis court. In 1979, Lacoste spoke to People Magazine:

“One day I noticed my friend the Marquis of Cholmondeley wearing his polo shirt on the court,” remembers René. ” ‘A practical idea,’ I thought to myself.” It was so practical, in fact, that René commissioned an English tailor to whip up a few shirts in both cotton and wool. “Soon everyone was wearing them,” he smiles.

Why the crocodile logo? Another excerpt from People Magazine tells us:

The American press dubbed him the Alligator in ’27, after he wagered for an alligator-skin suitcase with the captain of the French Davis Cup team. When he returned to France, “alligator” became “crocodile,” and Lacoste was known forever after as the Crocodile.

Dine in front of the historic buildings at the grand Deering Estate on the shores of Biscayne Bay in Coral Gables. The estate exudes elegance and tranquility with lush greenery, meandering paths and manicured lawns sweeping down to the palm-dotted waterline.

Rustic farm tables framed cascading, textured bouquets of magenta Peonies and varying shades of pink roses. Vizcaya's East Terrace, overlooking Biscayne Bay, provides a regal backdrop.

"Stoking the Fire" and "Pardon my Parisian" were the "His & Hers" signature Craft Cocktails du jour for this picturesque garden wedding!

CORPORATE EVENTS

Catering and producing the Annual Sea-Trade after party in Fort Lauderdale since 2005! Clear skies and a gourmet cook out under the palms on a balmy South Florida evening, what's not to like?

Pairings of gourmet "small plates" with signature cocktails resulted in a celebration of flavors for this grand four-day corporate event.

1111 Lincoln Road, designed by Swiss architects, Herzog & de Meuron, has become an integral part of the South Beach cityscape. Its soaring ceilings and unparalelled panoramic views that stretch from the Atlantic Ocean to the turquoise waters of Biscayne Bay make it a sought after venue for corporate and social events. Our corporate clients like the contemporary geometric architecture and the opportunity for an epic experience for special events outside of the corporate environment.

It was a stunning spring day for a luncheon at the NEW WORLD CENTER! While we're talking about the New World Center, home to the New World Symphony, take a quick peek at the New World Symphony's 29th Anniversary Gala. Full production and catering provided by Thierry Isambert Culinary and Event Design.
