Guests of luxury skincare brand, la Prairie, gathered in an enclosed event space installed on the beach in front of the W Hotel to celebrate the unveiling of “Wave,” a site-specific artwork by Spanish artist, Pablo Valbuena. Champagne was flowing and Thierry’s team served appetizers.
The artwork consisted of aluminum towers rooted in the sand and installed with LED lights that rolled up and down the poles in a fluid pattern that mimicked a wave. The visual experience was enhanced by the sound of the ocean only feet away from the installation. Art is central to La Prairie’s culture as they have commissioned work from several cross-disciplinary artists over the years, resulting in art pieces with themes that support the brand’s values and innovations.
During Miami Art Week, La Prairie also held a welcome dinner at The New World Center, and a dinner at 1111 Lincoln Road, with a creative menu designed by Thierry isambert to show the transition from darkness to light, in keeping with the The Shape of Light theme.
