October 18th, 2018 - The NSU Art Museum Chairman’s gala took place under clear skies and a bright moon overlooking the intracoastal at a private residence in Fort Lauderdale. This magical evening was a highlight of the Museum’s 60th anniversary and celebrated the opening of “Affinities and Distinctions,” the highly anticipated William J. Glackens and Pierre-Auguste Renoir exhibition. The Chairman’s Gala also honored the 20 men and women who have chaired the NSU Museum’s board from its founding in 1958 to today, and the special ceremony was attended by several 2nd and 3rd generation family members.
The dinner’s theme was in keeping with the Renoir exhibition with the menu featuring Thierry Isambert’s “Parisian Picnic” spread, and the third course dessert named “Renoir’s Garden in the Mist.” The event’s presenting sponsor was AutoNation, with cocktails by Bacardi and wines by Etude.
