A NIGHT OF MUSICAL MAGIC WITH JOHN WILLIAMS
On February 22, 2025, the New World Symphony (NWS) marked its 37th anniversary with a truly unforgettable gala, The Musical Magic of John Williams. Held at the world-renowned New World Center, this spectacular event honored the legendary film composer John Williams, whose iconic scores have shaped the cinematic landscape for more than half a century. The evening was conducted by NWS Artistic Director Stéphane Denève, who led a program featuring some of Williams’ most beloved compositions, including selections from Star Wars, Jaws, Harry Potter, Superman, Hook, and more. The music was enhanced by film montages, creating a dynamic and immersive experience for all attendees.
The event took place at the New World Center, an architectural masterpiece designed by Frank Gehry. The venue’s striking design provided the perfect backdrop for the night’s magical performances. For those unable to attend in person, the gala was broadcast live to the public as part of NWS’s WALLCAST® concert series, allowing music lovers to enjoy the evening under the stars in SoundScape Park.
Proceeds from the gala supported the New World Symphony’s ongoing mission to provide transformative educational opportunities for young musicians. Additionally, select segments from the concert were made available on NWS Inside, the Symphony’s free digital platform, for on-demand viewing.
The 37th Anniversary Gala was a celebration of not just John Williams’ musical legacy but also the future of classical music, highlighting the importance of nurturing the next generation of musical talent. It was an evening of inspiration, magic, and, of course, unforgettable music.
As the exclusive caterer for the New World Center, our team had the privilege of producing and catering the 37th Anniversary Gala, as we do every year. Guests were greeted with trays of Champagne, cocktails, and passed hors d'oeuvres for cocktail hour in the Atrium. A world-class performance in the Michael Tilson Thomas Performance Hall was followed by a seated three-course dinner for over 300 attendees.
