Each spring, one of Miami’s most anticipated philanthropic gatherings returns to the waterfront gardens of Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. The annual Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon brings together leaders in South Florida’s cultural and philanthropic community for an afternoon where history, fashion, and preservation meet in one of the best venues in Miami.
Often referred to as the Hat Luncheon, the event has become a beloved Miami tradition. Guests arrive in imaginative spring ensembles, their hats ranging from timeless elegance to strikingly avant-garde designs. Against the backdrop of Vizcaya’s historic architecture and lush gardens, the celebration feels both timeless and distinctly Miami.
The afternoon begins in the Main House courtyard with a cocktail reception accompanied by live jazz, where guests mingle and admire the season’s most creative looks. From there, the celebration moves to the waterfront for a multi-course luncheon overlooking Biscayne Bay.
Thierry Isambert Culinary and Event Design, was honored to provide the catering, event design and production for the 18th Annual Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon. Inspired by the freshness and color of spring, the menu reflected the spirit of the event; light, vibrant, and elegant, designed by a top Miami catering company to complement the beauty of the surroundings.
The luncheon menu drew inspiration from the brightness of the season and the garden setting of Vizcaya itself. A first course of hearts of palm and avocado with ruby grapefruit and pink peppercorn vinaigrette set a fresh, colorful tone, followed by a delicate pan-roasted seabass served with vibrant seasonal accompaniments. The meal concluded with a light and refined mango cream millefeuille, an airy dessert that echoed the tropical elegance of this luxury Miami event venue and the festive atmosphere of the day.
Throughout the afternoon, guests enjoy a lively program that includes the luncheon’s signature fashion contest, raffles, and other moments that have made the event one of Miami’s most distinctive social gatherings.
