INDHU & GREG'S EXQUISITE INDIAN MULTICULTURAL WEDDING AT FAIRCHILD TROPICAL BOTANIC GARDEN | CATERING & PRODUCTION / by Eric Monteiro

Indhu and Greg’s exquisite Indian multicultural wedding, featured in South Asian Bride Magazine and The Knot, took place at the magical Fairchild Tropical Garden in Coral Gables.

Fairchild Garden is an idyllic venue for any wedding, but it was particularly special for this one, providing the perfect, lush, tropical backdrop for the explosion of colorful flowers that define Indian weddings.

Our team scattered petals from 4000 roses, creating a gradation of hues from dark red to white, along the 60 foot runner leading up to the traditional Mandap. The Mandap is the four pillared structure under which the couple exchange vows, the four pillars representing the four parents who worked hard to raise their children, and it is always decorated with the brightest of colors. We brought in 2 truck loads of Bougainvilleas and Jasmine for the Mandap and strung garlands of luminous purple orchids along each side.

Dinner was served outside on the lawn. The rain promised to stay away so we removed the tent covering and left the frame, draping it with sheer cloth and bistro lights that sparkled as dusk settled, adding magic to an event that was already abundantly magical!

The Food, of course, was all Indian, with the menu featuring traditional Indian fare such as Palak Panneer, Tandoori Lamb Chops, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Sambar, which is a spicy lentil soup. We also had a Tandoori Station where naan was made fresh by one of our chefs. Traditional Indian menus are, in fact, one of our specialities, read more here about our Indian chef, Anthoni Doss Ramesh

Our event designer mixed up table centerpieces for each table, with some showcasing modern cascading arrangements of Orchids and other tables displaying long planter boxes filled with Protea, Lillies, Hydrangeas, Asters, Ginger, Yarrow and lime green grasses.

After dinner, guests moved inside to the Garden House for the after party where our production team had added a touch of glam with radiant, glittering tablecloths and gold accents. A DJ provided the entertainment and guests enjoyed the Champagne Bar which served 4 different Champagne tailored craft cocktails. The dessert station featured a lavish spread of Thierry Isambert’s signature Petit Fours and sweet treats.
