Thierry’s exquisite dishes and beautifully designed décor added flair to the fashion-forward Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon, also known as the hat luncheon.

A group of Miami’s fun-loving fashionistas gathered at historic Vizcaya Museum & Gardens for the annual Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon — also known as the Hat Luncheon — to help raise funds for the future of this beloved and important Coconut Grove property. Catered by Thierry’s and co-chaired by Christie Martin, Swanee DiMare, and Eilah Beavers, the event drew over 300 local philanthropists styled in mostly brightly-colored ensembles that included an array of fabulous hats — some created specifically for the occasion.

The well-dressed guests arrived to find a team of Thierry’s staff, who were waiting to greet them with colorful refreshments and enticing hors d’oeuvres to delight all attendees, who mingled among designer-clad models that strutted around the party as part of a fashion presentation sponsored by Neiman Marcus. Tables adorned with tones of royal blue and marigold, and lush, blooming sunflowers, were a dramatic addition to the already impressive backdrop of the Vizcaya main house.

With timeless Mediterranean-style architecture, and collections dating from the early 20th-century all the way back to Pompeii, Vizcaya was the jewel of a fledgling Miami when it was built between 1914 and 1922.

A century later, Vizcaya is just as relevant. It’s a cultural destination for tens of thousands of visitors from all over the world each year and a hub for locals who want to learn, grow and connect in a setting that is truly “Miami’s home.”

Lunch at this year’s event included an artful salad course, followed by fresh fish and Spanish rice, and topped with a dessert offering that included berry compote panacotta, cannoli, and tiramisu, among other delicious sweets.
