WHERE CHARITY MEETS FASHION | THE 2023 VIZCAYA PRESERVATION LUNCHEON / by Eric Monteiro

One of Miami’s crowned jewels is the spectacular Vizcaya Museum and Gardens on Biscayne Bay, accessible from South Bayshore Drive. The extraordinary beauty and unique history of this Italian renaissance villa with formal French gardens attracts over 300,000 visitors a year. Vizcaya is also one of South Florida's most sought-after venues for catered weddings and corporate events in Miami.

Vizcaya was built between 1914 and 1922 by retired businessman and millionaire, James Deering, and today it is a National Historic Landmark. The building was inspired by European architecture and all of the antique furniture, fixtures and artwork were imported from Spain and Italy but the local materials and native plants really connect the estate with the location.

The annual Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon raises funds for the upkeep of this beautiful landmark. Also known as the “Hat Luncheon,” because attendees are encouraged to wear stylish hats, the luncheon never fails to disappoint thanks to the magical setting, beautiful event design and the stylish outfits on Miami’s most stylish philanthropists.
