A WINE TASTING LUNCH AT VILLA MIAMI / by Eric Monteiro

At Villa Miami Residences, a single long table was set facing the water, ready to welcome the C3llar Wine Society. Twenty-five guests gathered for a guided tasting of selected bottles, paired with a four-course Italian-inspired lunch by Thierry Isambert Culinary and Event Design. The menu was built to follow the wines, keep the pace unhurried, and make the afternoon feel like a relaxed meal among friends.

The experience began with passed hors d’oeuvres. Small bites such as black truffle arancini, Bruschetta Contessa and fruta & prosciutto spiedo were designed to be enjoyed standing, with a glass in hand.

Once seated, lunch was served family-style to keep the table lively and informal. The antipasto course featured daily imported burrata, paired with pomodorini, basil and grilled ciabatta, simple elements that highlighted both the freshness of the cheese and the acidity of the accompanying wines. For the primo, homemade spicy rigatoni brought warmth and depth, its tomato-based sauce complementing fuller-bodied reds.

The secondo centered on herb-crusted lamb chops, presented with sautéed escarole with capers and lemon-roasted baby potatoes. Served on shared platters, the dish encouraged guests to help themselves, echoing the convivial spirit of an Italian family lunch while standing up to the structured reds featured in this course.

To close, a classic torta di nocciole with whipped mascarpone offered a light yet satisfying finish, with texture and sweetness calibrated to the final dessert wine.

For clients looking for corporate catering in Miami or private wine events at residences such as Villa Miami, this lunch illustrates how a tailored menu, thoughtful pacing, and family-style service can enhance a focused wine tasting and turn it into a warm, shared experience.
