THE 11th ANNUAL VIZCAYA PRESERVATION LUNCHEON / by Eric Monteiro

Three hundred fashionable philanthropists kick off Spring each year with a colorful luncheon at Vizcaya Museum & Gardens; while all funds raised by the luncheon go towards preserving and protecting Vizcaya, all eyes are on the extraordinary show of hats.

Otherwise known as the “hat luncheon” because guests are encouraged to wear stylish hats and the result is always spectacular! Keep scrolling to see portraits of some of the stylish attendees of this year’s event.

This year’s luncheon fell on the first hot day of Spring and Biscayne Bay was smooth as glass. The late morning cocktail Vizcaya’s courtyard included a silent auction and was followed by a sit-down lunch on the East Terrace.

Emmy Award-winning reporter and news anchor Laurie Jennings of WPLG Local 10 News was the event Emcee. The latest Spring Collections from fashion sponsor, Neiman Marcus, were modeled throughout the event.

The event’s premier sponsor was DAVID YURMAN.

The one-of-a-kind Vizcaya is a symbol of Miami that allows us to celebrate our vibrant history while also offering us a window into our city’s future. Vizcaya embodies the intersection of creativity and originality, design and the natural environment, global and local influences, and history and innovation. The Preservation Luncheon embraces and supports all these elements.
